Hello Dogdancer!
Finally its done! The Association Dogdance International has been founded on the 14th of november 2009 in Friedrichshafen / Germany.
The executive committee will now finalise the formation of the association.
And now we need you, our members of the club!
Therefore we would be happy to welcome you as a member of the association Dogdance International, open to any Dogdance-Enthusiast from all over europe.
Our association, which will hopefully soon be recognized as a nonprofit organisation, has the following goals:
Dogdance shall remain a sport open to all dogs and handlers. Therefore neither a membership in any club or organisation is needed to compete in a Dogdance-Competition. Further we stand against compulsory moves or entry tests, to ensure and keep the creativity and individuality in the sport.
Each team shall have the possibility to show its individual strengths and leave moves out, they don't want to incorporate into their choreographies for personal or health reasons.
It is a matter of particular concern to us that neither dogs without a pedigree nor people or dogs with a handicap are excludes from Dogdance!
Also beside the competition classes we want to maintain the Funclasses, so every team (whether young or old) has the chance to present its routine to an audience and get constructive feedback from skilled judges.
Dogdance shall remain a multicultural and international sport, where an exchange and participations at competitions beyond the boundaries of the countries is always possible.
We want to continue to organise Dogdance internationally as unburaucratic as possible and most importantly to ensure that evey dogdancer can have its say and influence the rules and the development of the sport in the future.
The reason why we now formed an association instead of remaining a loose community of interest is a consequence of the success of the convention and the fast growing Dogdance community, which has led to a growing amount of different tasks such as handing out record booklets, organsising conventions and competitions, updating the website www.dogdance.info, etc. This cannot be managed by only a few enthusiasts, neither financially nor by the amount of time spent.
The club still has the goal to keep Dogdance the way it is, a sport for everyone which is organises the same way all over Europe! But at the same time ensures a better organisation and communication within the different countries.

The membership fee will be € 20.00 per year and includes free record booklets for every dog.
The fee will only be due after the official recognition of the club or earliest on 30th of january 2010. You will receive all further information via e-mail.
