I have been told that people are asking why I am resigning, so here is the reason. It is very simple.
I don't speak German well enough!
I didn't realize how hard it would be, with my limited knowledge of German, to handle the day-to-day business of the Vorstand, not to mention all the
complicated and technical issues that have come up this past year.
Indeed, if the proposal by Claudia Moser under item 6.2 (New structure of the DDI Board) is adopted, I would not be eligible anyway for this position.
Because the job description of the Vice-Chairperson would be:
Translation of all protocols and information in German and English, to enable good communication and flow of information within the Board and the club.
This, obviously, I could not do.
It has been a pleasure to work with the other members of the Executive Board and to hopefully have been of service to DDI.
